My step-daughter Lauren is getting married. She picked a date in November which means we only have three months until the big day. I remember my wedding and there were so many regrets. I didn’t have someone to help me make my day perfect. Believe me my mother tried but there where so many things that happened that day that I wish I could change.
Five years ago I said I DO to my wonderful loving husband. My wedding was a destination wedding of some sorts. We live in Western Massachusetts but my wedding was in Cape Cod. My two biggest regrets were not having a photographer and the reception location. Looking back I realized the place was nice but not what I expected or hoped for as a bride. They provided the meal and cake. That day I was a disappointed as I watched my wedding cake melt. Yep, the strawberries were dropping like flies off that cake. One thing was spot on. I just wanted to be married.
Today, as I watch the beautiful young woman I helped raise (with much teenage resistance) I am enjoying the excitement of a wedding. My beautiful step daughter who has blossomed into a young woman who is strong-headed (she knows exactly what she wants) and resistant to change but at the same time she seems to respect my opinion (finally). She worries about everything and I am making sure that everything is going to be ok. Her day is perfect and we will stay on budget and most of all she won’t have those regrets I experienced.
During all of this I realize that my community could benefit from my experience and expand the idea of unique party rentals like a chocolate fountain or some pretty candleabras. There is no place in my community that offers a chocolate fountain so I purchased two of them. They will be a feature on Lauren’s buffet as an appetizer for the guests to enjoy while we wait for the bride and groom to arrive. What a great feature! The big question is will other brides desire it? I think so! I am excited about the idea of offering my services to brides on a budget in Berkshire County. I can do anything from print invitations to coordinating and/or planning the entire wedding.
I have an awesome color printer which can offer brides the ability to print their invitations at a fraction of the cost of what a professional printer charges. The do it yourself bride will save money using my services! Contact me to get more information.
